Hosting foreign researchers

The CNRS National Institute of Mathematical Sciences and their Interactions welcomes foreign and foreign colleagues in its units on medium-term positions known as “red posts”. These stays are for a duration of 2 to 3 months and benefit from preferential conditions. The reception concerns colleagues of all seniority levels (master or lecturer level or equivalent, professor or professor of universities or equivalent), on a scientific project mentioning a binome member of the UMR or the host FR.

Information for applicants

Eligibility: Must be working in an institution abroad. All levels of seniority are possible (equivalent to French CR/MCF or DR/PR, and assistant, associate or full professor).

Duration: commitment to a 2 to 3-month visit in a laboratory in France. Shorter periods cannot be funded under this program.

Period: the current call is for invitations to be held between February 2, 2026 and November 30, 2026.

Financial support: travel, visa, accommodation and meals for the duration of the visit are covered. Further details are to be discussed with the management team of the host laboratory.

– Curriculum Vitae (with a list of publications)

– A specific scientific project for the proposed visit, mentioning the contact peer in the

chosen laboratory.

– Provisional dates for a visit between February 1, 2026 and November 30, 2026.

– An invitation letter / or copy of an e-mail from the director of the host laboratory.
